Bowland Salisbury is gearing up to welcome bowlers from across the nation to South Australia for the 2024 SA Seniors Classic this weekend.

As the third event in the Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) Senior & Grand Senior Division ranked series for 2024, the SA Seniors Classic is celebrating its 21st edition since its inception in 2003.

Defending champions Christine Clark and Mick Talevski will be returning to defend their titles. Western Australian standout Samantha Matthews continues her impressive breakout year, having been selected for the NTS50 through last year’s trials. Samantha started the season strong by winning the Hammer QLD Senior Classic and followed up with a runner-up finish at the John Sullivan Senior Australian Open, proving her initial success was no fluke and leads the rankings at this point in the season.

On the men’s side, Ashley Riley leads the rankings after two events. The Tasmanian, who also was named champion of the Hammer QLD Senior Classic finished sixth at the John Sullivan Senior Australian Open, to sit on a total of 146 points, giving him a slight edge over fellow NTS50 member Andrew Lloyd 143 points.

Following a familiar format, bowlers will compete in 16 games over two days (8 games each day), with 48 bowlers in each of the two available squads. After the 16 games, the male and female bowlers with the highest pinfall will be declared the winners of the 2024 SA Seniors Classic.

Tenpin Bowling Australia wishes all bowlers the best of luck and high scoring throughout the weekend!
